I recently bought two acres of land and built a small home there but during the land clearing process some of the trees were damaged so I called Metcalf Tree Service for an inspection. Shawn came out and noticed a 90 foot oak tree that was declining and needed to be removed so I got on their schedule. Shawn also gave me some great advice on taking care of trees going forward. For example, a tree needs one pound of fertilizer for every one inch in diameter. So a tree with a diameter of 10 inches would need 10 pounds of fertilizer every year. This is something I didn't even know. I could tell Shawn really cared about his profession and his customers when he inspected the property. Metcalf also had their insurance company send me a copy of their Certificate of Insurance. This is something that's very important as removing trees can be very dangerous if not done properly. After a few weeks, a crew of three came out and removed the tree like it was nothing. They were very quick and professional and I could tell they really knew what they were doing. I even had a fence right next to the tree but they were able to easily cut the tree into sections and remove it without having to make any changes to the fence. When it comes to tree removal and annual inspections of any trees on your property I highly recommend Metcalf Tree Service. Everyone on their team I dealt with was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about their industry. I plan to use them every year for inspections and if any trees in the future need to be removed.
I've used Metcalf Tree & Landscape twice for tree removal and each time they went above and beyond. The crew did additional clean-up around the yard that was outside what was scoped and left my property looking better than when they arrived. The pricing is honest. The company is fully insured--check this aspect and ask for proof of insurance in your vetting process. I've had suspect quotes from other companies that were lower and they could not come up with the proof of insurance. This is important with tree removal. The Metcalf crew each time are highly skilled. It's amazing watching them rig branches that hang over the house for a safe drop. The owners are great to work with, professional and responsive. This is my go-to company for tree removal and tough jobs.
Metcalf Tree Service cut ten trees down in our backyard so we could clear an area for a fence. The largest tree, an oak, was over 50 feet tall and leaning towards our house. Shawn and his son did an outstanding job cutting down the trees, removing the debris, and cleaning up our yard. Years of experience and highly skilled, I would hire them again. Highly recommend.
The BEST firewood! They truly deliver the best quality. Kelly worked with me to make sure I got the right size of wood to fit in my small wood stove—they even dropped off samples of short cut vs regular cut for me to try in my stove! They delivered a HUGE amount of perfect evenly cut pieces that were easy to stack, and the wood was seasoned well and burns beautifully and efficiently. Would never go anywhere else for firewood needs!!
